Extremely disappointed with Back Country

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Backcountry. I ordered a Yakima WindShield, realized immediately that I needed a different size, and returned it the same day in its original packaging. The item was never used or installed. I simply opened the box, saw that it would not work for my setup, and put it right back in the packaging. After waiting over a week for a response, I was told that my return was denied because I had supposedly returned an “old model.” This makes no sense, the item I ordered is still listed and sold on Backcountry’s own website, and what I returned was exactly what I received. As a long-time Backcountry customer, this entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I did everything correctly, acted immediately, returned the product in perfect condition, and was still refused a return without a reasonable explanation. This situation has made me question whether I can continue shopping here in the future. I hope Backcountry reconsiders how they handle returns like this, because loyal customers deserve better.
