Why We Like The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant
Like any good convertible, The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant is all about having a good time. Except instead of winding coastal roads and sunny skies, this pant prefers trails, rocks, and woods. Its stretch nylon fabric is treated with a DWR coating to repel water, and the active fit lets us move easily through foreign cities and dappled woodlands.

Great Convertible Pants
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought these shortly before taking a trip and am impressed with these pants. They're good looking, lightweight, comfortable, fit well and are not baggy. They did not wrinkle in the suitcase which is a major plus. It was difficult converting from long to short pants since there are no zippers at the cuffs, but the fabric is stretchy enough that I was able to remove the legs over my boots. I'm very happy with these pants and hope to have them many years.

Loose and baggy
Buy a size down or not at all. Looks like you're wearing clown pants

Pants are soft and stretchy. Easy to unzip and zip pant legs back on. Color coded to ensure you zip the correct leg back on the correct side. Could wear to a nice restaurant too.

TNF lowers quality standards
Same issue as the other 1-star. Noticed 2 holes along the seam in the back. In more recent years, TNF has chosen to single-stitch their seams instead of older double-stitch for durability.

stitching sub-standard
single-stitch easily tears, creating holes. TNF going cheap. Used to use double-stitch for durability.

Didn't even make it to fish in them :(
The seam in the back beside the zipper ripped on multiple pairs. I don't know if I just have defective pairs? Third pair ripped today and each pair has done the same thing. Less than week. Please help

Don't buy it!
I recently bought this pair of pants-the first one I got had a small tear in the stitching, right below the zipper in the front. I returned it to the store and they gave me a new one. Unfortunately, after wearing the new pair only twice, the same issue appeared again: a tear in the same spot. Now, two months later, I've had to sew it twice already, and today I'm about to fix it for a third time. It's a shame, because The North Face is supposed to be a high-quality brand. In this case though, I'm really disappointed.

My initial thoughts
Material feels very comfortable and stretchy. Pockets r great. But, 1: its a single stitch (not sure how durable these pants r but i personally dont like single stitch on the crotch area). 2: u have to take ur boots off if u wanna convert the pants to shorts because theres no zipper on the ankel area (bottom of the leg). I usually wear a size 32 and the size 32 of these pants fit me perfectly.
