Borealis Sling Bag combines compact versatility with adventure-ready features

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The Borealis Sling Bag is my favorite grab-and-go option for short hikes or urban adventures. It’s lightweight but still fits everything I need, from a tablet to a water bottle. The padded strap and fleece-lined pocket are nice touches that make it comfortable and functional for everyday use."

For quick outings or streamlined adventures, the The North Face Borealis Sling Bag packs a punch in a compact package. Inspired by the iconic Borealis backpack, this sling offers the same beloved bungee storage system but in a smaller, more portable design. Its main compartment features a mesh pocket and key hook for easy organization, while a padded sleeve fits a tablet or large phone securely.

Thoughtfully designed for modern explorers, the Borealis Sling Bag includes a fleece-lined pocket for delicate essentials, like sunglasses or electronics, and a side water bottle holder for easy hydration on the go. The adjustable, padded shoulder strap ensures all-day comfort and even includes a secure-zip pocket for quick access to your phone or other necessities. Built with 210D recycled nylon ripstop and finished with a durable, water-repellent coating, this bag can handle spontaneous rain showers or everyday wear and tear with ease.

Perfect Size, Great Quality

My Borealis slign is perfectly sized for me--larger than a 3L but not as bulky as 7L, otherwise I would have just stuck to my backpack. It fits all my EDC gear and the sturdy strap gives me an extra sense of security.

Very nice

I haven't used this yet, but am looking forward to it! It can hold a surprising amount, I plan to use it for theme park days. The quality is good and the variety of pockets is great

Small, but a comfortable carry.

I got this to use for quick walks away from the car or house where I might need water, a snack, or different glasses and my wallet and phone. After several month of carried use, I've come to the conclusion it's about 2" too narrow for my needs. Here's why; The water bottle pocket is truly a joke, so my water bottle has to go inside taking up quite a bit of space. I use the water bottle pocket for my sunglasses case, which fits perfect. The shoulder strap has a stretchy pocket attached but it is way too small for anything other than a chapstick, one small bar, or hand wipes. No phone will fit. There is an exterior, chamois- lined pocket that fits my iPhone 16max, so that's good. Inside, the small mesh zip pocket is awkward to zip/unzip while wearing the pack slung around to the front. Awkward access for sure. By the time you toss a couple bars, or a sando in with the water bottle the pack is very hard to zip up. In fact I already busted the zipper pull one time trying. So, bottom line, it's a comfortable carry, but it needs to be about 2" wider so it zips up easily. Also, don't be fooled, if you drink water, at all, there is no suitable pocket and you'll need to put your bottle inside which uses up much of the room. @TNF, please make this a couple liters larger (wider) And redesign that inner zip pocket to zip the other way. Thanks.

Great size and very functional!

I bought this bag specifically for a trip to Canada & it was absolutely perfect for everything I did. I hiked many miles and it was just the right size-I could fit my personal items, snacks, ID/credit cards, water bottle and phone! I used this as my purse/bag for every occasion. So many thought out compartments make this a very useful bag without all the bulk!! Allows you to be hands free amd fits comfortably.

Great for everyday use!

Use it as a day to day sling. It's a perfect size. I have not traveled with it yet, as I have the mini back pack which is perfect for travel.

Great doggie day pack

I love this backpack and would give it 5 stars except the bungee cord broke after 1st use and custom service refused to send me a replacement bungee. Instead they wanted me to send on my entire backpack which would take too long for my planned trip. The pack itself is a great design, perfect doggie day pack. Water bottle holder could be a bit larger and bottom could be a little more flat to stand up when loading pack. Overall a great pack but not happy with customer service.
