They stay comfortable all day and integrate seamlessly with my Smith helmet."
The Smith 4D MAG ChromaPop Goggles redefine how we see the mountain, combining industry-leading optics with an easy-to-use lens change system. With BirdsEye Vision technology, the rimless frame maximizes our peripheral view, letting us pick out every detail in our line. When clouds roll in or the sun breaks through, the MAG magnetic system makes swapping ChromaPop lenses quick and secure, ensuring we’re always dialed for the conditions.
To keep things clear, AirEvac ventilation works with our helmet to prevent fogging, while the three-layer DriWix foam provides a snug, moisture-wicking seal against our face. Here's what customers have to say
The goggles offer excellent field of vision and perform well in various light conditions, but some users report significant fogging issues, especially in wet or cold weather. The lenses can also scratch easily, and the nose bridge design may be uncomfortable for certain face shapes. While the goggles provide great optics and visibility, the fogging and durability problems are a major drawback for many customers.

Like but don't love
I like the lenses and that they can be interchanged. What I don't love is the strap got pretty stretched out over a couple wears- I can replace and the problem is mostly cosmetic but feel like it should las t a little longer.

Breaking up with Smith
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
After being a lifetime fan of Smith optics, this will be my last purchase. I am baffled how the 4D Mag goggles are consistently among the highest rated goggles in the game. The good - this is by far the easiest and most consistent lens changing system I have used. Of the 3 lenses I have, the photocromic red mirror provide excellent optics. The bad - the mirror green lenses scratch very easily. Sure, some of that is to be expected and is ultimately user error, but if you do any sort of bushwhacking or riding in the trees, it's almost inevitable you are going to brush up against some branches from time to time. After 2 months, these lenses look worse than my previous Smith lenses with 5+ years of riding. The ugly - now that spring is here and the temperatures are warm, I've noticed an adhesive smell when hiking and fogging up the mirror green inner lenses. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad pair or just the green mirror lens snuck past QC. Well, unfortunately Smith customer service has completely ignored me. All to say, I'll be moving on after taking an L with the 4D Mag.

Frozen fog
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These goggles don’t seem to seal very well and on a very cold day, allowed lots of moisture that then froze on the inside of the lens and obstructed vision. Having spoken with others who own this, it appears this is a common issue for this goggle.

Great goggles
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
These goggles are fantastic. We have a lot of gray days on the slopes in NH and both sets of lens are fantastic for flat light days. The rounded bottom edge of the lenses really improves your range of vision. Just the right size on face-not too big or small.

Love the lens choices!

- I've used it several times
Have been using these for week. Between the two pairs of lenses included, they've been fantastic in all conditions. Best goggles I've ever had.

The most important part of my kit (short of my Smith helmet)
Going on 4 seasons with the 4D MAG. The original goggles I purchased are still in great shape after many, many days… The lenses are still free of scratches which is a minor mirical given how much time I spend skiing trees. Integration with my helmet i seamless, very little to no gap up front and the vents in the helment help to ensure airflow though the top of the goggles to help ensure they stay fog free. The only time I’ve gotten these to fog were operator error on my behalf that came after a long bootpack where I had built up too much heat that overcame all efforts to vent. Otherwise the do exactly what they are supposed to, provide clear vision and protection in inclement or bright sunny weather conditions.
