Wife Approved!
Finally found a hiking boot that the wife likes the looks and the fit. We hardly have them broken in but so far so good. She loves them!

Worst hiking shoe. Do not buy!!
I am an avid hiker and have always purchased salmon for their quality and comfort and this is probably the worst shoe I’ve ever purchased in all my years. They get so hot on my feet so fast and I cannot leave them on for more than a 2-3 hours with just regular socks. After only a month of wearing these the rubber notches on the bottoms of the shoe just started tearing off and now whenever there are rocks or sticks on the path the bottom of the shoe catches on those things because of the hanging notches so I trip so much. There is little to no ankle support and my shoe laces never ever stayed tied no matter how much I tie them. As a person who has always bought Salomon hiking boots I am extremely disappointed. I literally can’t even wear these. I have probably worn these less than 30 times since I bought them a year ago and am just using my old busted up Salomon’s with holes in them and no tread on the bottom rather than these to hike. What a waste of money. Please do not buy.

Comfortable and waterproof
Bought to replace my previous (5+ year old) salomon walking boots, and after a couple of weeks of daily use I'm very happy. These are comfortable, supportive, and waterproof. Couldn't ask for any more, except that the laces are shorter than any I've had before, and annoying to tie - a cheap step to take and hence 4 stars.

Truly Exceptional Boots, frustrating laces
This is my second consecutive pair of Salomon hiking boots and will likely be the boots I buy for as long as they make them. The stability, comfort and grip are fantastic! In the 3+ weeks I've had them, they have been worn almost daily on basic neighbourhood walks to full, forest hikes with steep, rocky terrain. They are definitely waterproof and I look forward to seeing how they hold up in colder weather (hoping they will get me through to -5Cº or so). The only reason for the -1 star is Salomon's crappy laces. My previous boots had the quick-lace system which would have been ok if the laces weren't so frustratingly long and clumsy to tuck in the tongue pocket. These boots have standard tie-ups laces but they are so slippery, the come undone even with the tightest tie and I have to double knot them every time (which frankly, looks like I'm a toddler). Laces aside, Salomon makes excellent footwear for us outdoorsy types and I recommend them to those new to hiking and well-seasoned folks.

Great shoes!
This is my second pair of Salomon shoes and I am a loyal customer forever! I have a lot of foot pain and these are the only shoes I can wear. They are comfortable and keep your feet dry in bad weather. I absolutely love them!

Very wide size down
The ad is deceptive they are very wide and clunky. Lightweight yes but not flattering at all

My best hiking shoes
I’ve been wearing these hiking shoes on every mountain trail I’ve tackled, and they’ve quickly become the best pair I own. The rugged outsole grips loose rocks and muddy slopes with confidence, while the waterproof membrane keeps my feet dry even when crossing icy streams. Thanks to their snug yet flexible fit, I never feel any hotspots or blisters—even after a full day of uphill climbs. What really surprises me is how well they perform off the trail, too. During my winter commute through the city, they provide excellent insulation and great traction on slippery sidewalks. Plus, their sleek design gets compliments everywhere I go. If you’re looking for one shoe that can handle both alpine adventures and cold-weather urban wear, this is it!
