Iconic craftsmanship meets everyday durability in the Red Wing Classic Moc Boot

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"These are the kind of boots that only get better with age. The break-in takes patience, but once the leather molds to your feet, you’ll have a pair that’s as comfortable as it is timeless."

The Red Wing Heritage Classic 6in Moc Boot has earned its legendary status through decades of dependable wear. Originally designed for workers who needed safety and comfort on the job, this boot continues to be a staple for modern life thanks to its rugged build and clean, versatile style. Full-grain leather uppers gain character with every scuff and polish, while the leather insole and cork midsole gradually conform to your foot for a custom fit. Built with Goodyear welt construction and finished with Traction Tred outsoles, these boots strike the balance of durability, grip, and comfort—whether we’re walking city streets, dressing up for casual nights out, or putting them to the test outdoors.

Here's what customers have to say

The product is highly praised for its quality, comfort, and classic style. Many reviewers highlight the durability and craftsmanship, noting the boots break in well over time. However, some customers experienced fit issues, with the boots feeling too tight or too loose. It's recommended to size down a half or full size for the best fit, as the boots tend to stretch out. Overall, the product is considered an excellent, high-quality investment, though finding the right size may require some trial and error.

Perfection

The best boot ever made. One suggestion, make these in 8” version.

Love a Moc Toe Boot

This is the Mac toe boot all others are based on. This boot is so comfortable after it breaks in. Plus, they look cool.

Getting better with age

I’ve own and worn these for about 2 years and I love them. Break in is a little tough but once you get them broken in you can wear them all day.

My favorite boot by far

The 1907's were my first pair of Red Wings. I've had them for 4 years now and I can say without a doubt, these are my favorite boots I've ever owned. They are my daily drivers year round. The break in period is a real thing, but that's standard when you're dealing with quality leather boots. Took me about a month before I could truly say they were comfortable, wore them almost every day during that process, but after that first month, oh my god are they just a pleasure to wear. The durability has been great, I haven't had any issues with any part of the boot separating, and the soles have held up nicely. Any scuffs you pick up just add to the character. I've worn these through some hard work, and they have stood strong, but honestly wouldn't pick these for that purpose, they are just so nice, I wouldn't want to risk truly messing them up by wearing them for harsh laboring jobs. Don't get me wrong, they have survived everything I've put them through, but I'd pick the traction tread lites or something like that if you're looking for a dedicated work boot. If you're looking for a classic, quality made boot that you can wear for pretty much any occasion, these are my no. 1 pick, and you're sure to get compliments on them. Just wouldn't wear them for construction or heavier duty jobs. Then again, that's not what you'd pick these up for. These get a 10/10 for me and would absolutely recommend them.

Coasting.

Red Wing isn’t alone in this, but they’re one example of a “heritage” or “legacy” brand doing everything they can to milk what’s left of their historic goodwill. I work in an office. I still wear good boots as a matter of habit. But these are effectively babied. We’re talking carpet, folks. I’ve had these for two weeks and the glue around the moc is bleeding out on both shoes. Black and sticky, I crimped them together with a pair of pliers. These look nice. And are very comfortable. There’s a decent amount of drop between heel and toe, giving a running shoe style push forward with every step. But I was waiting for years to get a pair of Red Wings for work. I was under the impression - thanks to some really great marketing - that they’d be the last pair I’d need. Of course that’s not true. These are probably going to be as disposable as everything else. Save your money.

Good boots, thin leather

I just bought 875 from AD here in Norway and they are good boots but i can see that they have very thin leather, only 1,8mm. Is this normal for this type of boots?

Quality & great fit

Struggled with sizing 875's & 8881's but these fit so well with the softer insole making these perfect straight out of the box. Caveat; all feet are different but these just work so well for my very average width feet. Typically a UK10 in most trainers, odd Adidas UK10.5. Red Wing - UK9.5 was my size & was immediately apparent upon trying, no back & forth between sizes. Copper rough & tough is great, looks better with age & Bick4 is working perfectly to keep them conditioned without darkening. Not cheap but made to last & a pretty timeless style. Cant wait to try the Classic Chelsea & Red Wing...bring back the Weekender Chelsea!

This boot is better than advertised!!

I am not new to Redwing, (I have 2 pairs of Iron Rangers) and I own some higher end boots, Viberg, Truman, and Russell Moc. I thought it didn't get better than the IR in Amber Harness until I bought the IR in Muleskinner which became my favorite Red Wing boot, only to be overtaken by these new Moc-toe Alpine portage. It is such a nice shade of green, and looks far more expensive than they are, and look great with a variety of colors. You have to see them in person to appreciate the color and quality of the boot and leather. I found break-in to be minor, I wore than for about 2 hours each day around the house for about 3 days. And today I waked over a mile with my dog and they feel 90% broken-in and should be really comfortable as they get more use..... Great Product!!

I love them!

I bought my first pair of Red Wing Women's Silversmith in May 2024. I absolutely love them, although I wish they were a bit wider.

Exceptional boot

Had my 8074 for a month and absolutely love them. They are broken in just yet but are on their way. I want another pair 🙌
