Crazy Light, Foolproof, Affordable!

If you are looking for a foam pad, look no further. The Switchback has Z folds and easily stores on the outside of most packs. It can be used alone if you are a back sleeper or paired with an air mattress for side sleepers. It also makes a great seat when you just need something between you and the ground.

Great versatile pad that earns it's place

A tough and fail-proof option that truly shines as a multipurpose pad. I use this all the time for field work in all conditions, and often as a sit pad at camp or spending the day at the climbing crag. It works great as a protective underlayer beneath inflatable pads whenever on rocky ground or for extra insulation in colder weather (silver side up to help reflect heat). It is not particularly plush on its own as a side sleeper, but I still find it more comfortable that other similar pads in a pinch. Truly dependable and versatile!

Comfortable and well built. Folds up tight and very light weight.

Just Right

On a recent hike on the AT, I used this pad instead of an inflatable and it worked great. In fact, I prefer it in summer conditions. As a side sleeper, I find the switchback surprisingly comfortable and supportive of restful sleep. A solid piece of equipment that does not disappoint.

Even my pup gives it 2 paws up! Got one for myself and my pup! Very sturdy and comfortable pad, adds extra warmth for your sleeping setup. Used it camping at 20F and it did its job! Awesome quality pad.

Light weight and comfortable

This is an awesome pad! It’s lightweight and comfortable. Perfect for backpacking and camping.

This sleeping bad is good for long trips and minimalists. Our first use was in a cave. It has good insulation even on wet ground. Well insulated from the cold wet cave. Even on racks I was slept comfortably, and it protected my sleeping bag.

lightweight summer or adding warmth in the winter

It works great and adds warmth under a current sleeping pad in the winter, or I'll take it alone in midsummer. Also great for laying on during breaks.
