Why We Like The Merrell Trail Glove 7 Running Shoe
Made sustainably with almost entirely recycled materials, the Trail Glove 7 Running Shoe features a low-profile and zero-drop design for minimalist runners who crave a barefoot feel. Here's what customers have to say
The shoe offers a comfortable, barefoot-like experience with a lightweight, flexible, and responsive feel. It has excellent grip and traction on various terrains, and the wide toe box and zero-drop design allow for natural foot movement and good posture. However, some users have reported issues with the durability of the Vibram sole, as the tread wore down quickly even with moderate use. There were also some concerns about the sizing, with some customers finding the shoes to run large or small compared to previous models.

Great Shoe!
The Shoes are excellent, very comfortable and great for hiking. I was skeptical of the thin flat soles, but they really seem to be the way to go. Only con is the sole doesn't last very long.

Great shoe
Love these. A little extra cushioning from previous minimalist shoes, but very comfortable. Do well on any terrain and also sports or cross training.

Great fit. Not super durable
I bought a pair for hiking. The fit was great and they were comfortable to wear all day, but after 1 hike the sole looks like a rodent chewed them up. To be fair it was a rim to rim hike in the grand canyon, but the terrain was on par with my usual hikes in big bend, so I don't think they'd last me much longer.

Faithful shoe
I bought my original pair 7 years ago for outdoor activities in Baja Sur. They held up very well but are showing their age this year. So, I bought a new pair!

My great decision after a ton of research!
I did a ton of research into various minimalist shoes. I tried on several brands. While in Williamsburg, I noticed there was a Merrell outlet. They were extremely helpful and I was able to tree these on. I wear a 9.5 in other Merrell shoes but as Merrell states, I went a half size down and the 9 fit perfect. I am so happy with these. They have zero drop and feel like you are wearing nothing, walking around barefoot. The Vibram sole grips and provides protection from rocks or objects. These are my fifth pair of Merrell shoes and i can safely say they are my favorite brand of shoes. I highly recommend them. They are much more comfortable than the similar model of Xero shoes I tried on. I will be taking these bad boys to Europe and around Virginia for hikes. Bravo, Merrell.

Why did you change, when you were so good?
These are probably great shoes for someone with narrower feet. I've used trail gloves for over ten years, but they are no longer suited for those of us with wider feet. They're much narrower than before, and unfortunately I've had to give up Merrell shoes for other brands which are more comfortable.why

Great comfort / Horrible Traction
Same great barefoot feel and comfort as most other Merrell barefoot series. Seems to be a bit more toe box room than previous generation which is good. The weak link though in this shoe is the tread. Even though it is a Vibram sole it is inadequate for any serious hiking where traction is critical. Really surprised Merrell made such a mistake with this shoe. I used it hiking in CO and WY recently and on trail the traction just isn’t there. There just isn’t a good enough traction for safe trail use. Def a swing and miss by whoever in Merrell approved this tread. Fine for flat surfaces but get onto any trail that has an incline/decline and loose underfooting which is pretty much any trail out West and these shoes are almost dangerous. Do better Merrell!

Great for hiking
I used these as hiking shoes. I hiked more than 26 miles over 5 days, with a combination of day pack and backpack and thousands of feet of elevation gain. These shoes stood up to everything. I wore them without socks. There was a bit of rubbing, but nothing too serious. I was very happy with their performance and highly recommend them. The only knock I have is that they have an odor that doesn't go away, even after washing. It's not horrible, but definitely noticeable.

New generation, same great barefoot running shoe
Plenty of room in the toe box and more forgiving than the vapor glove. I didn’t need to size down with wide feet. It’s the same great fit as earlier generations of Merrill barefoot shoes.

Weird rubber design
Why the heck do i need rubber, almost up to the laces on the outside of the shoe? I understand inside near the arch because a lot of us flatten that down so much…but what am i gripping near my outter ankle?
