Maxxis Reaver Dual-EXO/TR Tire

The Maxxis Reaver is our “go to” tire for gravel racing. Its diamond knurling center tread is low and fast but the Reaver features meaty side knobs for consistent cornering traction. Choose the Reaver when off-road speed is priority number one.

Excellent Tire for Most Varied Terrain

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I've found this tire (700x45mm) to be wonderful! It's the biggest tire I've run yet, but that extra 5mm leads to increased comfort, more traction, and less chance of flatting. It is a plush ride when run with the low pressure that a 45mm tire allows. Even without much center tread, I've been amazed by how well it corners and by being able to stand and pedal up steep, sometimes loose gravel. Of course, the rear's center tread with wear quickly on pavement , but that's OK when the tire delivers so well everywhere else. If speed is most important, I would size down to 40mm, or choose a faster-rolling tire, such as a Terra Speed. Enjoy!
