Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad delivers ultralight comfort with durable V-chambered support for restful nights outdoors

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This is my go-to pad when I need to shave weight without sacrificing comfort. At just one pound, the Static V2 still provides solid support with its V-chamber design, keeping me off the ground and warm through the night. Plus, the lighter fabric on top keeps the weight down while the durable bottom holds up to repeated use in the backcountry."

The Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad offers the perfect balance of lightweight performance and reliable comfort for backpackers and outdoor explorers. Weighing only 16.6 ounces, it’s one of the lightest full-size sleeping pads available, yet it doesn’t compromise on durability.

Designed with an innovative V-chamber pattern, the Static V2 cradles your body, providing lofted support while minimizing heat loss. The 30D polyester top keeps weight to a minimum, while the rugged 75D polyester bottom ensures long-lasting resilience against rough terrain. A quick-inflate valve makes setup effortless, so you can spend more time enjoying the adventure.

The ring that allows this to hold air broke after a use or two.

Overall seems like a good item. When blowing it up the ring you blow into lost a little rubber seal and thus when I blow it up before I can close it it looses a ton of air, making it often deflated when used. Do not see a replacement part online. Unfortunate experience.

Too Narrow

This sleeping pad is lightweight but way too narrow for comfort.

It works

Use this during summer canoe camping trips for a few nights at a time. I like that it compresses down and rolls up nicely. Obviously it’s not the thickest so site selection is still key. Like most air pads it’s prone to failure but has held up so fair.

Easy to inflate and comfortable. Lightweight and small. Great for temperate climates and summer camping.

Great for medium use

I love the size and weight. It rolls up to a nice little burrito-sized pouch and is easily tossed in a backpack. Inflates easy, but the valve tends to lose air when trying to close it up. I'm on my second one now, they typically last a couple years with frequent use.

These pads are quick to blow up and easy to roll up and transport. I also use it as extra padding for a cot.

Small but mighty

Bought this for a Colorado elk hunting trip and used it on top of a cot. The pad added an extra layer of insulation on top of the cot surface to protect against the cold airflow beneath. The only drawback was that it tended to move around a bit between the sleeping bag and cot but wasn’t terrible. Looking forward to making use of its small packed size on an upcoming backpacking trip.

6 years and going strong

I am in my sixth summer with this sleeping pad so I figured why not write a review. When I decided to get into backpacking, I did a lot of research on sleeping pads that were comfortable, lightweight, durable, and affordable. I picked out this one. Is it the most comfortable pad in the world? I don't know, I can only compare it to a CCF pad that I have, but I can say it is more comfortable than the CCF. I use it about 7-12 times per year, both for car camping and backpacking. I'm a woman and about 115 lbs. When you sit up on it, you feel it bottoming out, but when you lay down, your weight is distributed and it's comfortable. I can often sleep a full 8 hours and wake up without any significant pain. At home, I'm a side sleeper, but while camping I try to sleep more on my back. If I wake up on my side, I would say there's no pain in my hips, but if anything I can feel some temporary soreness in my shoulder. Tip: you should inflate it and then a few hours later top it off with more air. Not because it loses air, but because the warm air will lose volume as it cools. I will also say it takes way more breaths to inflate than the advertised 10-15. If I know it will be cold (say below 50F), I will pair this with my CCF pad for insulation from the cold ground. I continue to recommend Klymit to people who want something affordable but still high quality!

Great for side sleeper

Used this for a 2 week bikepacking trip. Saved a bunch of weight compared to my old pad and was comfy! Recently was a bit chilly on a colder night camping but perfect for summer.
