Why We Like The HOKA Challenger ATR 7 GTX Running Shoe
Made for all-terrain running (ATR), the HOKA Challenger 7 GTX is a versatile shoe that we can take to the road or the trail. This shoe's outsoles feature Durabrasion rubber with 4mm lugs to both stand up to the sanding effects of running on pavement and dig into the trail for sidewalk to summit traction. This version of the Challenger is lighter than the last iteration, features durable and breathable GORE-TEX waterproofing for all-weather runs, and—like all HOKAs—places maximum cushioning under our feet to cushion each step on the street, sidewalk, and single track.

Review Summary
Here's what customers have to say
The reviews for these shoes are mixed. Many customers find them comfortable, lightweight, and providing good traction and support for activities like hiking, running, and walking. Some report the shoes are waterproof and keep feet dry. However, some customers experienced issues with durability, such as the soles wearing out quickly or the fabric splitting. A few also noted the shoes ran small or had a narrow toe box. The overall feedback suggests these shoes may work well for some, but the durability and fit can be inconsistent, and customers may need to try different sizes or styles to find the right fit.

These are Weird
I wanted to try these to see what all the hype is around Hoka shoes. Although LL Bean recommends sizing up, I went by the “True Fit” on the LL Bean and Hoka websites, and they both suggested my regular size of 8. That said, the fit is perfect. The shoes are very lightweight but I find the extra cushioning to be a little extreme and it felt like I was wearing platform shoes. I don’t want platform shoes. I want sneakers. Something in the tongue of the right shoe pushed against the top of my foot and the same thing happened when my wife tried them on. Like my title says, “these are weird”. I do not understand hype and I am exchanging these for real sneakers as soon as I get the chance to go to the store.

Stealth Hoka
All the Hoka comfort and support without the Hoka splash. Love the clean look while still getting the footbed structure that Hoka is famous for. True to the Challenger design this is a great shoe that flys right under the radar.
