Trail-tough Keb Trouser with stretch, G-1000 durability, and on-demand venting

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"For big-day objectives, Keb hits the sweet spot: real abrasion resistance where it counts, stretch where you move, and vents you’ll actually use. It’s the pair I recommend to hikers who beat up their pants and still want them to breathe."

We build our kits around pieces that won’t flinch when the trail gets rowdy, and Keb Trouser is that foundation. Early starts, granite squeezes, thorny traverses—these pants keep pace with a durable G-1000 blend in high-wear zones and body-mapped stretch where we need mobility to step high, stem wide, and settle into the miles.

When the day heats up, zippered thigh vents dump excess warmth fast, while articulated knees, a gusseted crotch, and adjustable cuffs with boot hooks fine-tune comfort from talus to timber. Generous cargo storage stashes map, multitool, and snacks, and kneepad openings add optional protection for hands-and-knees moves. For rough canyons, rugged trails, and everything between, Keb Trouser is our do-it-all workhorse.

Here's what customers have to say

The pants are praised for their durability, comfort, and versatility, suitable for various outdoor activities. The articulated knees, ventilation zippers, and adjustable features are appreciated for providing freedom of movement and temperature regulation. However, some users have experienced the fabric wearing down more quickly than expected, and the sizing may run small. A few reviewers noted the lack of back pockets as a downside. Overall, the pants are considered high-quality and functional for outdoor use, though the price point may be a concern for some.

Not as they used to be😔

I worked for Rosker Ltd. part of Fenix Outdoor in 2013 and fell in love with Fjallraven as a brand. The Keb trousers were indestructible and they became very popular within my community and elsewhere within the UK over the past years. Unfortunately they don’t seem to be the same quality nowadays. The stitching comes loose in areas and they wear thin a lot quicker. It’s a shame as I was thinking of getting some more, along with the new Keb Gtx jacket, but it looks like that won’t fit me due to reviews. So disappointing that despite become so popular globally, it’s still random with its sizing and has dropped in quality. I’m not surprised that Johan Skullman left the company😔

Versatile and comfortable

Size Bought:
US32

I bought these for a recent hike in the Great Smoky Mountains. I have never tried Fjallraven before, but I have heard of them. The price was always a deterrent prior. I didn't realize how versatile a pair of pants can actually be until wearing these. They truly have covered almost all angles of a functional hiking pant with a very durable and comfortable material. Hiking through many sections with no clearing, they proved well against thorn and brush with no scathing. 3 season pants that can easily be worn over thermals to handle colder climates. I am 6'1, about 160, so tall and thin, I ordered the black in US 32 and found the fit to be spot on for me. I could wear these all day, everyday, without hesitation and for any and all purposes. My only complaint, which others have mentioned, is the lack of back pockets. You don't realize how much you use them until you don't have them. I have not used any of the ventilation zips yet as it was not warm enough, but I can see where no meshing would be awkward with fully exposed skin specifically on the upper set. I am looking forward to seeing how well these last and to what ends I can push them.

The Fjallraven Keb Trousers check all the boxes — they’re great for both travel and hiking, and the durability is outstanding. I’ve put them through plenty of use, and they still wash up great every time. The pocket placement is super smart, with just the right spots to stash essentials while keeping everything accessible. Comfortable, tough, and versatile, these trousers are a go-to for adventures big or small.

Phenomenally strong and durable but hot trousers

Excellent trousers. Comfortable and fit well. I know that they will last a good long time as well. I would just add one caveat. Even with the side vents open, if you take these guys to remotely hot areas and do anything vigorous with them, the will heat up and collect sweat at the bottom. I took them to the highlands of Ecuador where I thought I'd be plenty cool due to the altitude but in the direct sunlight and as it was a pretty vigorous trek, my legs were just drenched in sweat by the end. In contrast, I took them to Banff in the Canadian rockies and went on considerably less vigorous treks with my pregnant wife and they were 1000% more comfortable. So, would absolutely recommend to anyone with the stipulation that these are BEST FOR COOL OR EVEN COLD WEATHER ON MILD TO MODERATELY VIGOROUS TREKS. Otherwise, the strength and durability are overkill and a pair of light shorts would be better.

An expensive investment but worth every penny.

Bought these trousers a year ago. I have worn this for at least 30 hikes and travelled to 5 different countries. Pros - Extremely comfortable even to sleep during travelling (i.e. flight & coach), - Stylish for day out - The improved fit is very flexible for climbing & trekking. - Good thermal insulation. No problem to trek from -5 degC -> 25 degC. - Dust prove and easy to maintain. Cons Fabric pilling on the side pockets, where I usually my phone in. Fabric Pilling,

Great pants

Great hiking pants. Bought the pants a year ago .The only downside is that there’s no meshing on the leg vents. In northern New York the bugs are pretty bad and would fly right into the vents and bite your leg. Other than that they are very well made.
