Why We Like The Eagle Creek Gear Warrior XE 27in Bag
The Eagle Creek Gear Warrior XE 27in Bag is built for the kind of bold, adventurous travel that takes us from long-haul flights to bumpy car rides across rutted-out dirt tracks to splashing over breakers on a boat that may be just a little too small. That's all to say, this bag is tough. Made of 600D polyester that can handle being thrown from truck beds and cargo holds, with reinforced corners and a kickplate to protect our precious cargo. The zippered expansion panel creates an additional 13 liters of space so we have room to bring home all the gifts we pick up on the road, and the removable interior divider keeps our clean and dirty clothes separate to keep us organized.

Not a good new design.
I do Not love my new bag. I previously had a 26 inch two wheeled Eagle Creek bag. It was a terrific piece of gear. This new 27 inch bag is actually smaller than the 26 that I had. In addition, the removal of the strap for hauling extra bags, and the jacket strap that fixed on the handle were terrible decisions by the company. Overall, I am very disappointed.

Replaced my trusted friend
Had a very similar one in red form many, many years. Finally had to replace it since the fabric at the corners had frayed and was torn. Made sure to go back and replace it with a very similar model.

Luggage is a magnet for dirt. . . .
I purchased the 27" Gear Warrior and since took it on a 7 day trip. The luggage packed well, held alot and was easy to transport and handle. The real problem i encountered was that each time the bag was covered with black dirt each time it went through baggage handling. I never had that happen before. The color was tan - which I am sure had something to do with this problem. But the fabric seems to pick up dirt. I now have to buy a baggage cover.

Telescoping handle needs redesign
I just don't understand. . . If you have the telescoping handle extended, it's open to the inside of the bag. If you're walking in the rain, the rain is going to go right inside your bag?!? Plus dust/insects, depending on your location. Yes, I see that you can lower the telescoping handle and stow this all behind a zipper, but why the extra step? Why the hole in the first place? Why can't I use my telescoping handle and not have my bag 'open' to the environment? I've used another company's rolling duffles for years, but I'm going to be solo traveling by plane and then commuter rail so I wanted to have a bag that stood up vertically. Not having to hunt around in a duffle sounded nice too. I just got it and I'm leaving in 2 days, so I will probably keep this (besides who knows what the return fees are) but I'm already trying to figure out how to block the hole from the handle to the inside of the bag. I see that other Eagle Creek bags are not designed this way. I wish this had been clear from the pictures. I would have picked another bag. Frustrated and disappointed in my choice.

Gear Warrior Sand Dune easy becomes soiled
I ordered the Gear Warrior XE27" luggage (sand dune) in May and just completed my first trip. The luggage is compact, easy to handle and packs alot for its size. However, the big downer is that it gets real dirty fast. Each time it came out of the baggage carousel it was filthy with black marks all over the bag. Never had that happen with any other bags i owned. Sand dune should not be an option!!!!

Sadly the baggage has not lived up to expectations - the lower lock strap pulled out today and will no doubt be torn off during baggage handling for our flight tonight.

Solid build
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this bag on a 3 week trip to Europe and Africa. Easy to pack, holds a lot, sturdy build. My only complaint is that the interior straps are very short in one side so they invariably slide down under the clothes and you have to dig them out. Plus, it’s hard to buckle the strap when it is way off to one side. The zippers are very solid and sturdy, which makes them a little bit difficult to open and close. They are getting smoother with use, but might be hard for elderly hands. Overall, I am impressed with the bag

I have not had too

Plenty of room for stage clothes and travel gear combined with my eagle creek garment bag which slips over the handle it was perfect. Very stable when standing upright. Highly recommended!
