Why We Like The ST Radical Binding

The Radical Binding is Dynafit's patron saint of the innovative TLT tech compatibility, and the current ST Radical Binding is the very same Radical, except the beefier heel piece amps up the Radical's rowdiness. This amplified rowdiness is ideal for backcountry skiers like us who eye every cliff on the way up the skin track in hopes of dropping some during the downhill. The beefed-up heel piece also allows 12.5 mm of length adjustment to increase or decrease the pressure on your boot, which determines whether you come out of the cliff-jump with or without your skis. If it's without, this binding is Dynafit's only Radical with brakes to make sure they don't careen downhill without us.

Great Binding

Been using this since the start of last season, touring in VT and NH. I'm 6'1" and 235lb and it held onto me very well through deep powder and hard turns. Super easy to use and super reliable. I got the demo version so that added some weight but it has hardly made a difference. Would highly recommend for all your AT needs

Great bindings, work really well for East Coast backcountry skiing. Great blend of burly and lightweight.

The best AT bindings!

Love these bindings! They are robust and can do it all. My last pair of Radical Bindings lasted 10+ years of hard use. In our out of bounds these are awesome.

I've used rads for decades now and never been disappointed. Unless you're regularly dropping real thirty footers, they're probably enough binding. Wide enough toe piece to get on edge, and way less parts to ice up.

The industry standard

These are the daily driver. Not setting any skimo records, and also not falling out of my bindings. These feel solid on the feet during the downhill portion of the day, and light enough to do some long tours. Beginners can feel comfortable getting into these and experts should know what they are getting, reliability. I've used plenty, been around plenty, but still manage to come back to this one.

Great introductory, do-it-all binding

This binding is the first binding I have used for touring. I mounted them on a pair of Salomon QSTs. I chose this one as I had demo-d it for a couple days and I found it fairly easy as my first binding. I also chose this binding as it had a broader mounting area, which in my mind made sense to mount on a stiffer, more hard charging ski. While this is not the most lightweight binding on the market, I performs extremely well. I would recommend this to the vast majority of ski tourers looking for an entry into the sport.

Great touring binding for backcountry and in-bounds

Light, robust binding that has great retention on the uphill and downhill. Still pops when needed, but instills confidence in both directions. I've used them both touring and resort skiing and have enjoyed both. The only issue I have isn't model specific, but touring binding specific. With the release being on the toe, you just have to watch out for branches/tree stumps while skiing through glades, as they may release your binding.

super light and strong

I have mounted these on my Armada locators for touring and I love them, they are so light but don't feel brittle or weak like other mostly polymer bindings I have used.

Great functionality and an efficient setup. Transitioning the heal piece is not as easy as other models, but the trade off may be how solid this binding feels on the descent. Perfect for sending it in the backcountry and for skiers that want a lightweight setup, but are not copy ting grams.

First AT binding. They are lightweight, hold well, and so far no problems. The heels can be a little difficult to take out of touring mode sometimes, but not enough to cause any frustration.
