I really liked this Columbia Watertight II Jacket. This jacket can handle much colder weather than most of this type despite being very lightweight. That's because it has pull cords on both sides of the bottom of the jacket which, when pulled tight, prevent cold air from getting in. And ditto for the sleeves. There are adjustable Velcro strips so you can tighten the sleeves around your wrists and prevent cold air from getting in that way. They even put Velcro strips along the zipper so you can shut that air tight. And not to be left out, the hoodie can be tightened to whatever degree you want. The pockets even have zippers on them if you don't want your hands in your pockets. I haven't tested it in a heavy rain but it keeps the water out on light or moderate rain fall. My guess is that you will likely get a little wet in heavy prolonged rain. All in all a very excellent product to use for hiking, walking or even some work or errand running.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing jacket! I used it as my outer shell for a summit push on Mount Elbrus, and it was perfect. The conditions on the ascent to Pastukhov Rocks (around 4700m) were harsh-windy and cold-but the Watertight™ II kept me completely dry and protected from the wind. It's lightweight enough that I could wear it without feeling restricted. Attaching a photo from the climb so you can see it in action. For anyone looking for a dependable rain/wind layer for serious trips, I can't recommend this jacket enough. It's a workhorse.

Very nice rain jacket

I bought this for dog walking and other light activities during wet weather in Michigan. The jacket fits well and provides very good protection from rain. I like the adjustable cuffs! I wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath if it’s cold; the jacket isn’t designed to be warm but it does a great job of keeping you dry. I would definitely recommend it to friends and buy it again.

The perfect raincoat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for my husband and he loved it! Loved the color and the fit was perfect! He liked the Velcro closure on the body and sleeves to give it a fitted look. Finally when it rains he will not get soaked! So, we are hoping for a little rain to try it out. lol
