Vintage style meets modern chill in Reunion Steel Belted Cooler
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I grab this steel-belted classic for tailgates and long weekends. The stainless shell shrugs off dings, the hinged lid and latch keep cold air where it belongs, and the metal side handles make two-person carries easy. It’s roomy without being a beast, and with proper pre-chill and a solid ice load it keeps drinks frosty for days."
We love the Coleman Reunion Steel Belted Cooler - 54qt for the way it blends heritage looks with everyday performance. Coleman’s stainless exterior stands up to road-trip abuse, while modern insulation and a snug, hinged lid help lock in the cold long after the sun hits camp.
The 54-quart capacity dials in weekend provisioning for the crew, and the metal swing handles make loading simple from garage to tailgate. A straightforward latch, easy-clean interior, and timeless steel styling turn this cooler into a reliable centerpiece—at camp, at the lake, and on the patio between trips.

This steel-belted cooler is praised for its ability to keep items cold for long periods, sturdy and attractive design, and convenient features. Many customers noted it could maintain ice and drinks cold for multiple days, even in hot weather, and its large 54-quart capacity was suitable for camping and outdoor activities. However, some reported issues with the latch or lid, and a few felt it was overpriced or lower quality than expected. Overall, the consensus is that this is a high-quality, durable cooler that effectively keeps contents cold, though a small percentage experienced problems with specific features.

Love the cooler! It's not magic.
Love the look. It feels great and the size is right. A lot of complaints about the latch, but it's clearly not designed as a lock and more limited spill prevention. I don't see getting days of ice in this thing, it took 3 rounds of ice to manage a week between tailgates.

Would buy again if it actually locked
Locking mechanism sucks, would buy again but it wasn't good enough to spend that kind of money for it just be able to be pulled open

Looks elsewhere
Latch doesn’t work, company slow to respond to warranty issues. Look elsewhere. Hope to update this review with a better experience from here.

it's a cooler, nothing special
It's green, it's a cooler, it doesn't leak. The lid doesn't stay shut, so if you're in bear country you'll need to secure it in a trunk or bear box.

Not true to Original
The cooler is close to original, but not quite. I know that some materials have been updated to modern materials, but the design has changed negatively in my opinion. The latch is the first issue I have. The original has a flange against flange locking system which will not open unless unlocked. The new design is a pop system that really doesn’t require you to ever unlock it, just pull or push. Second, what happened to the meat tray that use to come with Coleman coolers? Is this some kind of money saver or something?

Latch issue
Unfortunately, the latch broke after less than one week of use at the lake. It was returned.
