Max cushion and smooth transitions define the Ghost Max 3 Running Shoe for road-ready comfort
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve put in a lot of road miles in the Ghost Max 3, and it’s become my go-to for recovery days or long walks. The GlideRoll rocker makes transitions feel smooth and effortless, and the nitrogen-injected cushioning is plush without feeling mushy. It's a perfect blend of soft and stable."
We lace up the Ghost Max 3 Running Shoe when we want maximum cushioning with a ride that feels smooth and steady from heel to toe. Brooks built this road-ready trainer with a higher stack of nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 foam to reduce underfoot pressure and enhance shock absorption without sacrificing energy return.
The low heel-to-toe offset and integrated GlideRoll™ Rocker geometry help guide the foot effortlessly through each step, promoting a smooth transition even when we’re logging back-to-back runs or walking long city miles. Engineered mesh boosts airflow while a broad base stabilizes without interfering with our stride. Designed to accommodate more foot shapes and provide added protection, it’s a dependable partner for anyone chasing comfort over distance.

Here's what customers have to say
The Brooks Ghost Max 3 offers excellent comfort, support, and cushioning for both running and everyday wear. Many reviewers report the shoes feel true to size with a roomy, wide toe box that provides ample space. The shoes are described as having great arch support, a springy and plush step, and high cushioning that helps reduce foot and leg fatigue. However, some note the heel area may not fit well for those with narrow feet, and a few experienced discomfort or blisters around the heel and ankle. Overall, the shoe is versatile and comfortable, well-suited for a variety of activities.

Best!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best of Ghost Max shoes. A lot easier to put on and still as comfortable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They are not as comfortable as i thought they would be. The GTS provide more support and cushion for me. I'm a nurse and on my feet a lot. This will be a pair that will sit in my closet. Perhaps if they were available in wide width the Ghost Max would be better.

Not for me!
I'm not really into the design, I usually purchase the ghosts but these are not for me. I will be returning them.

Too wide for narrow feet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to like these, but compared to the Ghost Max 2, the toe box is too large. I have narrow feet and felt more movement than I am comfortable with. The tongue is also much shorter and awkward fitting on my foot. I had medial ankle pain during and after my run even with locking the laces. The cushion was comfortable and squishier than the Ghost Max 2. I’ll be returning for these reasons. If you thought the Ghost Max 2 was too narrow this would fit you well.

I love these shoes!!! They provide so much support and I feel like a stronger runner since I have started to wear them. But also since I’ve started to wear these shoes, I’ve had my first ever blisters. Hopefully this problem will go away once my feet adjust, but I’m pretty disappointed because I’m obsessed with Brooks and have never had this issue before.

I never want to take them off!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My feet have been hurting for 6 months to a year. I have tried all different kinds of shoes and finally found relief with the Ghost Max 3! I feel like I could wear them all the time.

Returning unfortunately
I owned Ghost Max 1 in 9.5 wide and loved them. These feel tighter in same size. I'm hesitant to order a 10 wide because my heel slips in this version, but not in Max 1. The shoelaces are so short too! I also tried the 2nd version, and they feel heavy and stiff. Wish I could find a happy medium.
