Cascadia 19 delivers versatile trail performance with adaptive support and rugged grip
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve tested the Cascadia 19 across mud, scree, and root-covered trails, and it just handles everything. The midsole is cushioned but not soft, and the grip gives me confidence bombing descents or grinding uphill switchbacks. It’s a legit go-anywhere trail shoe."
We don’t run the same trail twice, so we run in the Brooks Cascadia 19. Built as a true all-terrain multitool, this trail shoe adapts to changing surfaces and unpredictable weather with confidence-inspiring traction, reliable protection, and a balanced, stable ride. Whether we’re navigating mud, wet rock, or packed dirt, the Cascadia's updated TrailTack rubber outsole bites into the ground to keep us grounded.
Its 6mm drop and neutral support provide a natural yet protected feel underfoot, while the rock plate and mudguard shield against sharp debris and trail spray. The breathable upper is reinforced to last through scrambles and season after season of long miles, and it feels light enough for daily trail training but tough enough for ultra distances. Whether we’re linking ridgelines or tackling wet, rooted switchbacks, the Cascadia 19 is ready to move with us.

Here's what customers have to say
The shoes are generally well-received for their comfort, stability, and traction on various terrains. Reviewers highlight the secure fit, roomy toe box, and excellent grip, making them suitable for hiking, trail running, and everyday use. However, some customers find the updated model overly squishy and lacking the desired level of support compared to previous versions. A few also noted issues with blisters or a too-wide forefoot. Overall, the shoes provide a good balance of comfort, stability, and traction for outdoor activities.

A runners shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a newbie trail running, doing my first 10K with these shoes, definitely very supportive and help me focus on my run. The trail was on the coast, with a lot of ups and downs, foresty trail and maze like areas then some beach plus some actual road, and in all cases the shoes did well. Definitely recommend this brand!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought these for my husband, our foot doctor recommended we buy Brooks, over 2 other well know brands . The wide toe space is what he was looks ing for. He really likes them..

Great outdoor shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 8th or 9th pair! I purchased my first Cascadias when they were rated the #1 shoe for hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2018. I then discovered they worked well as golf shoes. Traction is excellent and comfort is far better than most golf shoes. I walk 18 or more holes almost daily from May to November without a blister or sore spot. I see them a lot on caddies and they clean up easier than regular golf shoes. Color choices are also a plus over Foot Joys, Nikes or Adidas.

Way to squishy for my old feet and heavy body
I was much happier in the Cascadia 18, but I'm not a runner. As a 59 year old at an in-shape 220 pounds, I need shoes that have enough toe room and a relatively stiff sole for walking and light hiking. I was so stoked on the Cascadia 18 for that purpose. So hard to find those characteristics. Now, with the Cascadia 19, the shoes are very squishy and I can't stand that. I read the reviews before my purchase and new they would be different, but I didn't imagine the soles would be that much squishier. I wish Brooks would make two version of the Cascadia: A Cascadia AR (all-around) based on the Cascadia 18 model, and a Cascadia TR (trail runner) based on the Cascadia 19 for lighter, younger runners who want the squishy thing. Based on the Cascadia 18 reviews, which I read extensively, it seems like there are a lot of other customers who liked the 18 for a hiking shoe, not a running shoe.

Wide enough toe box to protect me on the trail. Super comfortable over root & rock!

Cushier than previous Cascadia's
I was really excited when the new Cascadia 19 shoes arrived. I work outside in the rocky terrain of the Texas Hill Country and these shoes are great in the heat. I have rotated in my older Cascadia 18 shoes now since the new ones are starting to crush down. The newer cushy 19's are not lasting as long as my 18-17's.

Excellent comfort & stability. Users with high instep/arches may find the lace lock is adequate, but longer shoestrings and/or widening top end of the tongue would minimize heel slip.

I have been running in brooks for 15 years. These are best shoes I have ever worn. I run in fairly technical routes, 3-4 miles a day. up and down and rocks and ledges and these shoes are comfortable, have great traction and perfect for the trails. Of all the Brooks I have owned these are number 1.
