Most comfortable sun hoodie I have owned.
I recently did Sphinx Mountain in the Madison Valley of Montana. I wore this and couldn't be happier with my purchase, the fit is perfect and is also the most comfortable sun hoodie I have worn. I also wore it while fly fishing recently and it was perfect again!

Excellent Sun Protection
I purchased this shirt for hiking exposed ridgelines in Idaho, and I have been extremely satisfied. I was a little hesitant to try hiking with the hood up, thinking I would overheat. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see how cool I stayed in direct sunlight even with the hood up. It really blocks out a lot of the UV and heat. I even wore this shirt as my base layer under a light windbreaker when I hiked Borah peak in August. It wicked sweat away great as I was ascending. I was then able to just wear this shirt as my only layer on the descent once the sun started to get hot. Very happy with this purchase.

Versatility at its finest
This is hands down my favorite item that I own from Black Diamond. Purchased it for some sun protection during high alpine summer Colorado hikes to it works great for so many uses as well. Perfect hiking top on its own in the spring, summer, and fall or as a base/mid layer under a shell or insulated jacket in the colder months. For higher aerobic activities it dries crazy fast even when it’s pretty wet. The hood is well designed to give your ears and neck some good sun protection in the summer. I’m 5’10 and about 175lbs and the size large is comfortably big. Probably could have gone with a medium but the large works well. This is my absolute go-to to keep the sun protection high, when watching my daughter’s outdoor summer swim meets here in the Colorado sun. I’d recommend adding this to your cart today.

Perfect for the Longs Peak Trail
I wore this hoody recently on the Longs Peak trail, and it was exactly what I needed. Lightweight and breathable on the climb, but still gave enough coverage and sun protection at higher elevation. The fit is comfortable, layers easily, and the fabric held up great through a long, demanding day. Highly recommend it for serious hikes and mountain adventures.

Great sunshirt
I wear my hoody every day as I'm a redhead who's outdoors every day walking and climbing in the summer. It's super-lightweight, blocks all UVs, and even looks good. I never put sunscreen on anymore, and the hood fits over my cap or helmet easily. I own three, and they're great. Highly recommend.

Amazing quality, great odor repellence
I wore this hoody, went climbing for hours in early August, went out with friends afterwards for drinks and it still has no smell on it. Dries super fast, and is great for all things outdoor

Didn’t fit right
Xs was still too big, sleeves and torso are long- wish Black Diamond offered an xxs or made the women’s without the annoying side pocket.

Works great and fits with other Sun Hoodies well
I purchased this because of the mineral based sun block. As compared to the sweat activated cooling from Columbia, etc. I found that it works well to block sun and keep you cool. Tested in mild desert temps around 95 and I felt cool. The only think to be aware of is it does not absorb water like Columbia Omni Freeze or Patagonia Capilene so you do not have the evaporative effect and it's not AS cool as its competitors. Best for lower temps where you don't need to be soaking in water, or just don't care. For extreme temps were you want to maintain evaporative effects this would not be the best.
